Abstract

The article is timed to commemorate the anniversary of the famous landscape geographer V. B. Mikhno and is devoted to his scientific, methodological and teaching activities in the Department of Physical Geography and Landscape Optimization at Voronezh State University. Publications of V. B. Mikhno's colleagues and pupils, as well as personal impressions of the author are used in the article. V.B. Mikhno is a scientist who organically combines a number of qualities: expeditionary researcher, theorist of science, creator of new methods and techniques of landscape research, team organizer, scientific leader.
