Abstract

The purpose of the study – the use of modern GIS technologies and Earth remote sensing materials to assess the impact of the livestock industry of the Belgorod region on the environment. Materials and methods. When performing the work, the environment of modern ArcGIS 10.4.1 software was used. When creating cartograms, the "core density" tool and other geoinformation mapping techniques were used. Results and discussion. In the course of the work and the creation of geoinformation resources, objects of livestock complexes were mapped with subsequent modeling of the level of anthropogenic load of livestock production waste on the territory of the Belgorod region. With the help of geoinformation mapping tools based on remote sensing data through areal characteristics, it is shown that it is possible to establish integral indicators of the production capacity of livestock complexes. Conclusions. The result of the study shows the validity and prospects of the use of geoinformation technologies in the research of the livestock industry. The practical benefits of this research area for the Belgorod region in the context of the implementation of the sustainable development policy of the region are also confirmed.
