Integral Assessment of the Tourist and Recreational Potential of Cognitive Tourism Objects in the Kemerovo Region – Kuzbass

Abstract

The purpose is to conduct an integral assessment of the tourist and recreational potential of Kemerovo Region objects in the context of cognitive tourism development in the region. Materials and methods. The information base was the works of Russian and foreign authors, the scheme of territorial planning of the Kemerovo Region, open materials of the Internet, data of official websites of municipalities of the region. The main scientific methods of the research were descriptive, scoring, comparative-geographical, cartographic. Results and discussion. The integrated assessment of the cognitive tourism state in the Kemerovo Region was made. Taking into account the results of the integral assessment of natural, historical-cultural, industrial and socio-economic objects, the grouping of municipalities in the region was carried out. Conclusions. The most favourable areas of the Kemerovo Region for the integrated development of cognitive tourism, as well as the areas with the potential for the development of this type of tourism have been identified. Recommendations for further development of cognitive tourism in these territories are offered.
