The typology of municipalities of the Voronezh Region according to the peculiarities of development and territorial organization of the health saving sphere was carried out. Problematic situations in the health subsystems in their current state are identifi ed. The possibilities of creating localized centers of medical and health care tourism both for the population of neighboring regions and for the residents of new Russian territories have been identifi ed, which is especially important at the stage of recovery of their economies, including the service sector. Conclusions. The system of health saving in the Voronezh region as one of the most developed regions in the southern part of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation should be aimed not only at serving the local population, but also the visiting population from other regions of Russia, and in the future, possibly, from other countries. Thus, the regional center, the city of Voronezh, and some other urban districts and municipal districts of the region will acquire new functions in the territorial division of labor – not only health care tourism, but also medical tourism.
