Problems of Using Recreational Resources of Relief of the Gubostan-Absheron Physical-Geographical Region of the Azerbaijan Republic

Abstract

The purpose is to assess the physical-geographical and environmental features of the Gobustan-Absheron physical-geographical region of the Azerbaijan Republic from the point of view of the use of recreational resources of relief. Materials and methods. A methodology has been developed for assessing the recreational potential of relief based on morphometric indicators, based on scoring and using a geoinformation approach. Based on literary and cartographic sources, a map of geomorphological recreational sites and a geomorphological tourist map of the region have been compiled, which have great scientific, theoretical and practical significance. Results and discussion. It has been established that the study area has unique opportunities for organizing geomorphological tourism. The presence of many geomorphological recreational objects, including specially protected ones, was noted. Conclusions. The package of proposals has been prepared for the rational use of geomorphological recreational resources and the organization of recreational activities.
