Industrial Tourism as a Strategy for the Development of the Territory

The purpose of the research is to study and consider industrial tourism as a sub-type of tourism activity. The object of the study is industrial tourism. Using the example of Greece, the article examines the experience of industrial tourism. The development of industrial forms of tourism has been analysed as an important indicator of the development of areas that can be adapted for tourism purposes and used as tools for the economic development and restructuring of the region. The scientifi c novelty is the study of industrial fi elds as sites for industrial tourism, since cases of turning abandoned enterprises into tourist sites are becoming more successful. Materials and methods. The research is based on methods of analysis and synthesis. The work used scientifi c works of both domestic and foreign scientists. Synthesis of scientifi c articles for the period 2019-2023 showed an increase in in terest in industrial tourism among scientists. Based on the data obtained, the need for an integrated approach to the research of industrial tourism has been identifi ed. Results and discussion. To increase the profi tability of visitors, industrial enterprises began to develop tourism, trans forming their production. This type of tourism includes: excursions to the enterprise itself, museums, corporate places, parks. Conclusions. The relevance of studying the problems of industrial tourism is predetermined by its importance in solv ing the socio-economic problems of regions and the economy as a whole. The popularization of industrial tourism ensures increased demand for products, an increase in the prestige of blue-collar professions, developing tourism infrastructure, and smoothing out the uneven spatial development of territories.
