Without preliminary cleaning, discharges of surface runoff during periods of rain or snow melt can adversely affect the quality of natural waters. The article gives a comparative assessment of the results of the chemical analysis of surface melting and rainwater runoff from the residential areas of Voronezh with the norms for the discharge of sewage into water bodies. The authors propose to install the treatment facilities for the purification of melt and rain sewage from residential areas and industrial sites just before the storm water discharge into the Voronezh reservoir.
