Abstract

The article discusses the conceptual foundations of the formation of a strategy for ensuring the environmental safety of Russia in modern climate change. The threats to environmental safety caused by climate change are identified. The main directions of climate policy and the mechanisms for ensuring environmental and hydrometeorological safety are formulated, expanding the network of automatic weather stations and marine observing platforms; carrying out scientific research in order to improve the quality of forecasting weather and climate phenomena; research and assessment of possible future changes in the regional climate in the regions of Russia, as well as their consequences; development of a system of riteria, parameters (threshold values), security conditions of each region in relation to climate change; the development of measures to adapt the economy and society to climate change; the development of technologies and projects to minimize the risks of the negative impact of extreme weather events and climate change in the process of socio-economic development of the regions.
