Abstract

The purpose of the publication is to acquaint the geographic community with little-known episodes of the pedagogical and social activities of Professor F. N. Mil’kov during his stay in the city of Chkalov. Materials and methods. The article uses materials from Mil’kov's personal archive and the archive of Voronezh State University. Results and discussion. The author focuses on the rapid rise of the career of Professor F. N. Mil’kov, his passion for teaching and social activities, cooperation with the media. Conclusion. In 1950, the 9-year period of residence and work of Professor F. N. Mil’kov in the city of Chkalov came to an end. On October 15, the Director of the Chkalovsk State Pedagogical Institute signed an order to transfer Fyodor Nikolayevich to another job. A new route Chkalov - Voronezh was laid. Professor F. N. Mil’kov with his family used to live in the city of Chkalov from 1941 to 1950. In 1957, the city of Chkalov was returned to its original name - Orenburg.
