The purpose is scientific and methodological substantiation and description of the experience of the regional centre of development of school geography education, created on the basis of the faculty of geography, geoecology and tourism of the Voronezh State University. Materials and methods: description of functional tasks, structure of Voronezh regional center of development of school geographical education based on generalization of tasks of Russian geographical society in consolidation of forces and aspirations of Russian society in study of national geography, stimulation of society participation in nature protection activity and popularization of ecogeographical knowledge among schoolchildren. Results and discussion: a brief description of the most important activities implemented under the auspices of the Voronezh Regional Centre for School Geography Education Development (conferences, scientific and methodological seminars for teachers, Olympiads, thematic dictations, quizzes, geographical lectures, ecological and ethnographic festival) is given. Modern forms of interaction in the system "school-university" for increasing the efficiency of school and university environmental and geographical education are shown. Conclusion: Voronezh Regional Centre for the Development of School Geography Education carries out a complex interdisciplinary creative interaction and cooperation with various school and non-school organizations of Voronezh, Voronezh Oblast and the Central Black Soil Region. In the future, further expansion of its functions, coordination of activities with similar centers on the basis of cooperation of human, material and technical and resource potential of the Central Black Soil Region and the development of scientific and methodological materials for the development of school geography education are planned.
