Introduction: introduction: comprehensive biostratigraphic studies of Devonian sediments have been carried out and expanded on the territory of the Voronezh anteclise. It became possible to detail the palynological studies of the Fran deposits of the studied area, taking into account the modern morphological classification of R. Potonier and G. Kremp [1‒2], with some additions made in subsequent years by a number of researchers [3].
Methodology: the selected and studied core material from 4 wells in the southeastern part of the Voronezh anteclise served as the basis for the work. The total number of samples studied is 15.
Results and discussion: the myospore zonality of the Fran deposits of the Timan horizon of the Voronezh anteclise has been established. Comprehensive biostratigraphic studies have been carried out, and index species, markers, and the guiding complex of myospores have been identified. The distribution of index species of the zone Contagisporites optivus−Calyptosporites krestovnikovii (OK) and the subzone Acanthotriletes bucerus−Archaeozonotriletes variabilis insignis (BI) has been traced.
Conclusions: as a result of the conducted palynological studies of the Fran deposits of the Voronezh anteclise, it was found that the identified myospore complex corresponds in volume to the palinozone Contagisporites optivus−Calyptosporites krestovnikovii (OK) subzone Acanthotriletes bucerus−Archaeozonotriletes variabilis insignis (BI) [4]. The above myospore complex corresponds to the Timan horizon of the Fran tier.
