The main components of the geodynamics of the Kola region are characterized. It is shown that, along with relatively slow main relief-forming and glacioisostatic processes in the Late Pleistocene and Holocene, fast seismotectonic processes occurred. Various types of palaeoseismic events - geological evidence of strong earthquakes are considered, new data are given about their age, intensity, correlation with structures and movements. The decrease in seismic activity from the Late glaciation to date is due to the dying down glacioiso static uplift of the shield and the transition of the leading role from vertically directed forces of glacioiso stasy to horizontally compressive stresses.
