Introduction or purpose: the research area is located within the Verkhnekamskoye salt deposit. The main feature of the field development is the need to maintain the integrity of the water-protective stratum. When it is disturbed, fresh or low-mineralized waters begin to dissolve salt rocks, erode cracks, which lead to increased water inflow and flooding of the mine. In potentially hazardous areas of mine fields, geological and geophysical observations, including electrical exploration, are regularly carried out to monitor the preservation of the water-protective stratum and identify negative changes in the state of the rock mass. Electrical survey methods were used to identify flooded areas and zones of vertical water migration in suprasalt sediments. These zones are often characterized by low values of resistance and natural electrical potential.
Methodology: monitoring observations were carried out on 6 profiles and included the methods of electrical resistance profiling and the natural field method. The gradient installation of the resistance method had a distance between the electrodes of the supply line AB=360 m, between the electrodes of the receiving line MN=10 m, the measurement step along the profile was 10 m for both electrometry methods. In March 2025, a localized subsidence zone was discovered within the low-resistance area. The low-resistance zone in the south-southeast of the study area was previously identified based on the results of the interpretation of monitoring data conducted annually since 2015.
Results and discussion: based on the monitoring results, areas with reduced electrical parameters were identified, presumably corresponding to flooding zones and vertical migration in suprasalt sediments. Research in the area of local subsidence of the earth's surface showed an increase in filtration processes on one of the profiles and made it possible to determine the location of the area for further detailed observations. Conclusion: the presented materials of electrical exploration studies indicate their sufficient effectiveness. The obtained results contribute to increasing the information content of complex geological and geophysical works and make it possible to identify areas for additional, more detailed research using modern equipment systems and processing technologies.
