The main directions of transformation of the abiotic components of the environment in areas of long-existing oil depots are determined. The role of the microrelief of the territory and the particle size distribution of soils during the spread of polluting elements is indicated. The results of the application of a new field device – a portable detector with a MWNT-based piezosensor – for the determination of pe-troleum products in soils and groundwater are presented. The ubiquitous pollution of the industrial site of the tank farm with oil products in concentrations exceeding the MPC by 20–80 times was revealed. Groundwater is maximally polluted in the lower part of the relief, associated with sources of pollution; overpasses of oil products. Pollution levels range from 50 MPC to the complete replacement of water with a lens of a pure oil product.
