LIMITATIONS OF HIERARCHICAL MODELS OF GLOBAL GOVERNANCE: A NETWORK-BASED ALTERNATIVE

Тhe article examines the limitations of hierarchical models of global governance in the context of an increasingly complex international environment. It demonstrates that the vertical logic of centralized control loses explanatory power when confronted with distributed forms of coordination grounded in informal practices, infrastructural mechanisms, and a growing multiplicity of actors. The study substantiates the need to shift toward a network-based analytical perspective that incorporates the material, normative, and cognitive dimensions of contemporary political interaction and reveals the hidden architecture of global governance.
