Formation and development of the institute of dual citizenship in Russia

The article examines the issues of formation and development of the institution of dual citizenship in Russia. The author pays attention to the relationship between the concepts of "citizenship" and "citizenship", offers a periodization that reflects the attitude towards the institution of dual citizenship in domestic legal science and legislation. The article concludes that dual citizenship was denied by pre-revolutionary and Soviet legislation. It is proposed to single out two types of conventions on issues of dual citizenship: on the settlement of issues of dual citizenship and on the prevention of dual citizenship, as well as the characteristic features of each type of convention.
