Formation and development of the institute law enforcement service in Russia

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the formation of the law enforcement service in Russia. The process of formation of legislation governing law enforcement in the period of the XVI-XIX centuries is considered. Analyzes the regulations on the creation of the Russian police, the regulation of police activities and the police service. The attention is focused on the legal nature and directions of law enforcement and police activity.
