Abstract

The article is devoted to the mechanism of functioning of peasant law, which is considered as a set of norms that determine the intra-communal life of peasants and is not limited only to legal custom. He includes in this concept elements of judicial law–making of volost courts, rural gatherings, the opinion of old people - connoisseurs of "antiquity", public opinion that develops outside official structures, but has an impact on decision-making.
