Privacy and protection of user data in virtual reality

This article examines the issue of protecting the confidentiality of personal data in virtual reality within the framework of current Russian legislation. The author analyzes Russian and foreign legal experiences and concludes that there is a need to improve their adaptation to complex technological realities. The aim of the research is to propose possible methods to address these issues. Through the use of dialectical, sociological, systemic, comparative legal and other methods, the author comes to the conclusion that as one of the mechanisms for developing future legislation, a co-regulation method is possible, which can contribute to the security and preservation of data confidentiality in the field of VR. According to the author, such an approach could provide better legal protection and help address current challenges in this area.
