Abstract

The article is devoted to the legal problems of reindeer husbandry in Russia. The author gives a general characteristic of reindeer husbandry, shows the current legislation in this area, systematizes initiatives to improve it, formulates an understanding of the right to engage in reindeer husbandry, the rights and obligations of reindeer herders and some other issues of their status. The need for a federal law on reindeer husbandry is substantiated in the conclusion.
