Abstract

This article focuses on the specifics of the legislation of the BRICS founding countries in the fi eld of citizenship, the principles on which the process of obtaining it is based, and analyzes the legal framework for acquiring citizenship on various grounds. Based on a comparative analysis, general trends and specific features inherent in each country are identified, which allows us to draw conclusions about the state and prospects of the institution of citizenship within the framework of the BRICS.
