Abstract

The article attempts to define the digitalization of criminal proceedings. It is noted that, on the one hand, this term is intuitive and it makes no sense to multiply new entities. On the other hand, the study of the phenomenon of digitalization (and it certainly requires careful research) should have a clear subject and clear boundaries. Of the points of view presented in the literature, the most popular one looks preferable – according to it, digitalization should be understood as the introduction of digital technologies. The concept of these technologies is revealed – they rely on binary code and electronic devices for processing it.
