Jury trials as a guarantee of citizens' rights to judicial protection in Russia

The article summarizes the rich domestic historical experience of the formation and operation of the jury system, taking into account the various positions of scholars, and examines the positive and negative aspects of the jury system in Russia. Special attention is paid to the scientific works of Professor M. G. Korotkikh, who considered the jury system to be one of the advantages of the 1864 judicial reform. It is argued that the jury system currently serves as one of the guarantees for the implementation of citizens' rights to judicial protection in the Russian Federation.
