Critical reconstruction of the legal awareness model formulated by I.A. Ilyin

Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of the legal awareness concept formulated by I.A. Ilyin in his work «On the Essence of Legal Awareness». The model of normal legal awareness is reconstructed, within the framework of which the human spirit and the will to spirit, positive and natural law, the axioms of power and legal awareness coexist. The human spirit, which mediates all human interactions, is related to the axioms of self-worth, autonomy and mutual recognition. Possible defects of the model associated with the distortion of the legal awareness axioms are analyzed. Reconstruction of the model is aimed at critical perception of the legal awareness model formulated by I.A. Ilyin and the actualization of his ideas to improve the level of legal awareness.
