Abstract

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of legal regulation and practice of interaction of preliminary investigation and criminal investigation in some regions of the Russian Empire at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries in the historical and legal context. Appeal to the experience of judicial and investigative reform of the second half of the XIX century. by the example of specific regions, it allows a more complete and objective analysis of the current processes taking place in the activities of the preliminary investigation bodies and the police, being a necessary link in establishing the continuity of reforming the entire judicial and investigative system of the Russian Federation, and, in particular, the above institution.
