Abstract

In this article, the author considers the essence of the ideological function of the state and offers its own definition. At the same time, he comes to the conclusion that the ideological function cannot be identified with the state ideology, but has an independent value. As the main tasks of the ideological function of the state, the author calls the legitimation and goal-setting of state power. As the structural elements of the ideological function, the author sees the subject, purpose and ideological settings.
