Improving employment legislation in Russia as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of topical issues of changes in the labor market in connection with the raging pandemic of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the need to transform the understanding of distance employment, and the establishment of additional state guarantees for employees in this area. Certain aspects of the activities of remote workers are considered, the expansion of the transition to a remote work format to maintain employment of the population of the Russian Federation during the period of self-isolation introduced, and the necessary adjustments to the legislation on remote work are predicted in the near future. The pandemic has accelerated digitalization, the transition to new forms of work, and also accelerated the growth of unemployment. As a result of the transition of the economy to digital rails, some workers will lack competencies, and they risk being left unclaimed in the global labor market.
