Abstract

The article analyzes the provisions of the draft new federal law on local self-government regulating the competence of local self-government bodies, assesses their compliance with the principles developed in the scientific doctrine, as well as the principles enshrined in the legislation for determining the subjects of competence and powers of public authorities, and offers recommendations for eliminating existing shortcomings.
