Abstract

The article is devoted to understanding the role and signifi cance of the stage of initiation of a criminal case in the modern criminal process, taking into account the numerous changes that this legal institution has undergone in recent years, as well as practical problems of its implementation. It is concluded that it is premature to make a decision on the liquidation of this stage, which remains an important guarantee of compliance with the constitutional rights and freedoms of participants in criminal proceedings.
