The article is devoted to the study of the norms of the Code of Professional Ethics of a lawyer, the Standard for the Exercise of Defense by a Lawyer in Criminal Proceedings and decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as to assessing the impact of these norms on the possibility of preserving and protecting the Attorney-Client Privilege from violations in the Russian criminal process.
