Features and prospects for innovative development of dairy cattle breeding in Russia

Abstract

Importance: the subject of this study is the directions, prospects and difficulties in the innovative development of domestic dairy cattle breeding. Purpose: identifying the most promising areas of innovation in cattle breeding, assessing the barriers to their path and selecting methods for managing the innovative development of the industry. Research design: Analysis of regional, sectoral, functional, technological and organizational features affecting innovative processes in the industry, and the formation of target directions for its innovative development. Results: the conditions that form the main directions, specificity and complexity of innovative development of agriculture, and in particular dairy cattle breeding, are summarized. Specific innovative directions for the development of dairy cattle breeding are highlighted. Innovative achievements are classified into technological, environmental and organizational-economic. A conclusion is drawn about the decisive importance of the active position of the state in supporting, financing and managing innovative processes in the agricultural sector.
