Current issues in the application of legislation in the distribution of advertising on the Internet

Importance: legislation of the Russian Federation in the context of the distribution of advertising on the Internet, aimed at observing the principles of fair competition and exercising the right to receive fair and reliable advertising. Purpose: to identify common errors when placing advertising on the Internet, taking into account the requirements of current legislation. Research design: at this point in time, individuals posting information on the Internet are adapting to new conditions that have arisen after amendments to the legislation of the Russian Federation aimed at ensuring transparency in the procedure for conveying advertising information from the advertiser to advertising consumers, for example, a unique requirement namely for the Internet, it is necessary to enter information about advertising into a special advertising accounting system, therefore it is relevant to highlight the main features when placing advertising on the Internet, their correlation with the requirements of the law, including taking into account the position of the antimonopoly authority on compliance with mandatory requirements. Results: typical mistakes made by market participants when placing advertising on the Internet and the reasons for the mistakes were identified based on an analysis of the practice of monitoring compliance with requirements for advertising labeling.
