Abstract

Importance: the role and significance of emotional intelligence and psychological safety in managing non-profit organizations in VUCA and BANI environments. Purpose: to examine the role and importance of emotional intelligence and psychological safety in managing non-profit organizations under VUCA and BANI conditions, aiming to enhance organizational resilience, minimize risks of team burnout, conflicts, and staff turnover, and to propose a practical tool for third-sector organizations. Research design: the article analyzes key characteristics of VUCA and BANI environments and the specific features of emotional intelligence. Additionally, it proposes a checklist for implementing practices to develop emotional intelligence and ensure psychological safety within non-profit organizations.The study employs theoretical analysis to examine and systematize core concepts of VUCA and BANI environments, as well as definitions and perspectives on emotional intelligence and psychological safety. A comparative analysis is used to identify similarities and differences between VUCA and BANI concepts. Practice-oriented modeling is applied to develop the checklist. Results: the findings summarize the main features of VUCA and BANI environments and analyze their impact on non-profit organization management. The study substantiates the critical importance of emotional intelligence and psychological safety as key factors for team resilience and for reducing burnout, conflict, and turnover. Practically, a ready-touse checklist has been developed for NGOs, enabling the integration of emotional intelligence development and psychological safety practices into everyday management under conditions of uncertainty.
