Theoretical provisions for formation and development of integrated corporate structures in high-tech industries

Abstract

Importance: аs a result of integration processes in industry, various forms of enterprise integration formations are being implemented. The problems of development of integration processes and different organizational structures are the subject of research by scientific schools. At present, integration mechanisms have been applied for a long time in high-tech industries and demonstrate their effectiveness. Purpose: to study the main theoretical approaches of domestic and foreign scientists to defining such concepts as «integration», «merger», «consolidation» and «cooperation». Highlighting major forms of integrative associations existing within Russian industry. Research design: the necessity of forming integrated corporate structures (ICSs) in Russian industry is justified because it affects improving product competitiveness, quality of manufactured goods, and flexibility of management under fluctuating environmental conditions. An analysis has been conducted on ICS formation in Russian industry. Consequently, there was identified a need for establishing ICSs in knowledge-intensive sectors to produce hi-tech products capable of competing with advanced countries under current conditions. Results: basic principles of integration were detailed, basic notions of integration along with its varieties and forms were examined, as well as comparative theoretical analysis with terms like «merger,» «consolidation,» and «cooperation.» Analysis and justification were carried out regarding implementation of ICS at enterprises belonging to defense-industrial complex (MIC) for producing civilian consumer goods.
