On the implementation of the cluster approach in the development of the agrarian sector

Abstract

investigate the conditions to increase the competitiveness
of Russian agricultural sector through the development of agricultural
clusters. Discussion: we consider the term «cluster» and its elements.
We show the necessity of innovation development of agro-industrial
production. Based on the differences between the clusters and vertically
integrated associations, we provide a definition of agro-industrial cluster. In
addition, we mark positive and negative aspects of agricultural clustering.
Results: we present the expected results of agricultural clustering, such
as increasing of integration processes in the agricultural sector, increasing
the competitiveness of Russian agriculture through the introduction of new
information technologies.
