Purpose: the author considers the problem of food security for the of the North-East of Russia population on the Republic Sakha example (Yakutia), the influence of agroindustrial complex on the level of regional food self- sufficiency, the need of state support from the Government of the Russian Federation. Discussion: the author proposes to implement a number of measures to improve the level of food security for Northern regions population of Russia by government regulation at the Federal and regional levels. Results: the author researches and suggestions are practical. Therefore, the author offers to use its results in the living standards development of the North-East population of Russia, development programmes of the food system, the new directions for the state policy of food security.
