To the discussion on the essence of the category «finance» in Russian economic science

Abstract

Purpose: the author defines the essence of the category «finance» in the modern economic science. Discussion: the representatives of the two directions in the economic science dispute about the essence and content of the category «finance» for several decades. The subject of their disputes includes: financial relations, financial resources, financial mechanism and other. The author thinks that the main error of all disputes in the indicated discussion is that the participants in the discussion do not pay enough attention to the signs of finance, that is, the finance criteria. Results: the author suggested and substantiated that, the finance criteria are the monetary nature of the relationship, the distributional nature, the nonequivalent character and the conditionally stock nature of cash flow in the form of finance.
