Abstract

Purpose: The article is devoted to the study of the scale and role of transnational corporations’ investment activity in international flows of capital. Discussion: Active process of national companies’ transformation into transnational ones due to opening of operations beyond the national borders derive from the increasing role of country’s investment support in the competitive struggle. With reference of this fact, the authors suggest examining the impact of transnational corporations’ investment activity on the global investment flows and forming recommendations for the creation of Russian effective investment system. Results: The flows of foreign direct investment in the world between 2012 and 2016 and the structure of outflows and inflows of foreign direct investment by region and industry were analyzed by the authors. The results of the investigation allowed the authors to suggest  a set of recommendations to improve the Russian investment system.
