Study of the industrial base of innovative development of the Russian economy

Abstract

Purpose: the article is devoted to the study of the nature and extent of the relationship between the level of industrialization and the innovative effectiveness of regional development. Discussion: under the assumption that the innovative development of regional economies should be based on a sustainable industrial base, the authors propose an analysis of the degree of readiness of industry to provide an innovative breakthrough in the framework of the fourth industrial revolution. Results: the authors proposed models of innovative development of the Russian regions, and also investigated the degree of determinism of industrial development by innovative performance. The results of empirical studies have confirmed the impossibility of transferring the national economy to innovative «rails» without increasing its level of industrialization at a new technological level.
