Abstract

Purpose: the article presents a methodological approach to leveling the levels of spatial development of regions through additional concentration of efforts on the development of the financial sector. Discussion: the regional segment of the Russian financial sector is localized in the economic space of the region and, accordingly, depends, first of all, on the economic potential of the region, the volume of financial resources, the state of the financial infrastructure, available sources of financing and capital. Results: to assess the institutional environment of the regions of the Russian Federation, a matrix was built for positioning the regions according to the degree of provision of financial services and the quantitative values of the levels (oversaturation, sufficient, low and critical) were substantiated, which made it possible to form a map of the institutional provision of the regions of the Russian Federation with services of non-credit institutions. financial organizations, which is the basis for the formation of priority areas for attracting and distributing financial resources at the meso-institutional level.
