Abstract

We consider the principal possibility of separation of solutes on hydrophilic polymers with nondissociating
polar groups: cross-linked polyvinyl alcohol and cross-linked polyacrylamide. It is shown
that such polymers can separate both cations and anions. The effects of separation are found to be small,
and the ways for their improvement are analyzed.
