Abstract

The aim of the work was studying the sorption of copper (II) ions in the algal tissue in the discharge
of electrical alternating current. An experimental study of sorption of copper (II) ions on algal cellulose was
carried out in the presence and absence of an electric alternating current under static conditions. It is noted
that mass based on the diatoms can be used as an adsorbent in the water purification from a copper (II) ions.
Furthermore, it is shown that the process of engaging in the sorption concentrating AC (50Hz) leads to an
increase in the sorption capacity of the sorbent and a sorption process intensification. This allows the
concentration of copper (II) ions and other heavy metals from waste water without complicating the process.
Also results obtained in carrying out the study were discussed.
