Information environment of the notion of political correctness in scientific discourse

Abstract

The research focuses on the information accompanying the concept of political correctness in scientific discourse. The research material consists of texts of scientific papers in Russian, English and French. The peculiarities of information in the contextual environment of this notion in scientific discourse are stated, the language means forming the information are determined, the message pragmatics is analyzed. The study reveals that, in Russian and English scientific discourse, the characteristic feature of the notion context is the presence of objective information, the narration is emotionally neutral. In French scientific discourse, emotional and aesthetic information prevail and the notion context includes significant amount of emotive vocabulary. It is concluded that ,the presentation of political correctness analysis results in French scientific discourse appeals to the emotional perception of the recipient to a greater extent.
