Abstract

The article is devoted to the little-studied phenomenon of phraseologization of fragments of political discourse that receive independent functional significance in the space of political, in particular, media discourse. The linguistic status of such elements is still far from being determined and is the focus of various approaches and typological studies both in the field of vocabulary and phraseology, and in the framework of studies of political media discourse. The functional range of these units is quite diverse: from clerical speech cliches to gelotogenic media memes, which are very popular in various media formats. The author of the article offers a number of theoretical foundations for the typology and analysis of these discursive units, their classification and disclosure of the mechanisms of their internal form. The study was carried out on the material of the French language.
