More often than not in scientific literature the terms of Psycholinguisctics and Linguopsychology are used as identical. Despite the fact that attempts to distinguish these terms are made, there is no clarity and universal approach to how to distinguish them, that indicates that the article subject is of current importance. The aim of the article is to find the basis for difference of Psycholinguistics and Linguopsychology as scientific disciplines. The main method, applied in the article, is the substract methodology, dialectical method of rising from the abstract to the concrete. The applied method allows illustrating the difference between Psycholinguistics and Linguopsychology as scientific fields. The article demonstrates the major difference of these allied disciplines. On the materials of the XIIIth and the XXth symposiums of Psycholinguistics general evolution of psycholinguistic research is shown and practical appliсability of the theoretical statements is proved. Practical significance of the results is connected to the increase of the research effectiveness. Theoretical significance of the results lies in the possibility to apply the method in other scientific field. It is due to the fact that the method is of general academic nature, and five doctoral theses in the variety of scientific fields have been defended using it.
