The object of the research is the frame-model of the act “insult”. The act is seen in this article as a goal-directed action, that is always externally evaluated (positively or negatively) and leads to certain circumstances or results. All in all, the act is viewed as a socially meaningful action. The frame-model of an act is a structure that consists of the following slots: the goal of an act, the action that is evaluated as positive or negative, the subject (or the doer of the act), the object of the act (the one who is influenced by the act), evaluation (positive or negative), the result of the act. An insult can be either physical or verbal. The frame-model of a verbal act looks like the frame of a non-verbal one with the difference in one slot, that is the slot “action”: verbal acts are always verbal actions. The aim of this article is to fi gure out the list of semantic roles, that are expresses by the act name insult, verbs that render the same meaning, and its actants in the modern Russian discourse. The article shows the semantic roles that are regularly stated in the contexts with the words that represent the verbal and non-verbal frame “insult”.
