Abstract

Тhe article is devoted to the problem of achieving equivalence and adequacy in the translation such type of a text as skazform. Taking into account the fact that skazform is a genre of fi ction text, it has a number of stylistic features connects with folklore. This type of text not only conveys wisdom of the people, but also shows the honor system, philosophy and everyday life of a certain people through the form of language. Due to the signifi cant diff erences in the systems of English and Russian languages, in order to create the same communicative eff ect, compensation can be realized by linguistic units of a diff erent order. The relevance of the study is conditioned, on the one hand, by the need to identify the linguocultural features of the genre of the skazform, which may be lost in the process of translation, and also by the need to analyze translation solutions in order to identify ways of overcoming linguocultural diff erences in those cases where it is not possible to apply the method of compensation. This article analyzes the key theoretical concepts, clarifi es the linguocultural features of the text of the genre «skaz». The research part of the paper presents a comparative analysis of stylistically marked linguistic units in the source language and the target language. The main focus of this paper was on the phonetic and lexical levels of the language. As a result of the work reveals the degree of eff ectiveness of the method of compensation for overcoming linguocultural asymmetry in languages within the framework of translation adaptation.
