Abstract

Тhe article presents analytical material on parts of speech of the Russian language in the context of the grammatical teachings of Professor A. M. Lomov. The object is his scientifi c articles in which he critically comprehends the current state of the doctrine of parts of speech in terms of their purpose and classifi cation. The purpose of the article is to analyze the results of Professor A. M. Lomov's adjustment of the traditional theory of parts of speech and to present the author's approach to some topical issues of their study in modern Russian studies. Such controversial issues as the question of the content and volume of grammar, the content and boundaries of a word, the ratio of parts of speech and structural-semantic types of words are analyzed. In the aspect of the violations of the identity of the classifi cation bases identifi ed by A. M. Lomov in the system of parts of speech, questions about the linguistic status of pronouns, ordinal numerals, participles, interjections. The subject of special analysis was the allocation of the category of representation. In the context of A. M. Lomov's grammatical teaching, it has every reason to include in the system description not only the verb (traditionally), but also other parts of speech. The syntactic nature of the category of representation makes it possible to present in a greater. The author comes to the conclusion that the reasoning of Professor A. M. Lomov about parts of speech is conceptually promising and testifi es to the importance of constant critical understanding of the theory of parts of speech in connection with the acquisition of new knowledge in the study and description of Russian grammar, variety the morphological-syntactic formations of parts of speech as their representatives in diff erent syntactic positions.
