Abstract

Тhe research material and methods relate to two important areas: phraseology and the linguistic picture of the world. The article raises the question of the formation of the linguistic picture of the world among Tuvinians studying in educational institutions of secondary vocational education in Russia. The article discusses the general properties of paroemias and phraseological units, which makes it possible to refer proverbs and sayings to phraseological units. The theoretical part is based on the work of famous linguists, including J. S. Hertek, the fi rst scientist to describe Tuvan phraseology. In the practical part of the work, all groups of phraseological units used for research and the results of their cognitive refl ection by students are presented. The problem of holistic perception of paremius without a literal understanding of the expression is raised. There is a weak understanding of Tuvan phraseology by modern Tuvan youth as a result of the desire to learn Russian with the prospect of a better future arrangement in life, while knowledge of the native language remains at the level of everyday communication. It is proved that the formation of a linguistic picture of the world, including phraseological, depends on the values laid down by the family since childhood. Based on the conducted research, a conclusion is made about the obsolescence of individual words and, accordingly, expressions that include them. The practical signifi cance of the proposed research lies in the use of the presented theoretical materials for the information support of the course "Tuvan language", "Intercultural Communication", "Comparative Linguistics".
