Тhe phenomenon of interdiscursivity, while it is possible to observe the interaction of two or more types of discourse, causes the appearance of juxtaposed units functioning in one of these discourses, but having the representation form of another discourse. The purpose of the paper is the theoretical justifi cation and description of these units. The object of the research is polydiscursive units, the subject is their functioning in the semiotic space of fi lm, advertising, Internet, media and musical discourse. The analysis of polydiscursive units required the use of a set of methods, including methods of theoretical analysis, generalization and synthesis for the theoretical substantiation of the polydiscursive units phenomenon; methods of content and discourse analysis used to identify polydiscursive units and their functioning in the above-mentioned discourses, as well as their role in constructing the external hierarchy of fi lm discourse. The results of the research confi rm the existence of synthe tic polydiscursive units in the form of various semiotic complexity texts. The key condition for their existence is belonging to two or more discourses in terms of form and functioning. Polydiscursive units act as a common integrative element of the discourses external hierarchy: in the case of the interaction of two discourses, a high er position in the hierarchy will be attributed to the discourse whose precedent content a polydiscursive unit possess; in the case of the interaction of three or more discourses, a higher position in the hierarchy will be at tributed to the type of discourse that provides form as an external manifestation of the polydiscursive unit. The results of the study can be used for identifying and analyzing polydiscursive units of other discourse types and creating educational materials on discourse analysis for students of philological specialties.
